In wind and weather
The year has now started a few weeks and the first month is already behind us. The days are slowly getting longer and for us the sailing season is getting closer. What have we done in recent months and what awaits us?
In November, the Victoria S went up the ramp at the shipyard. She is beautifully painted again and various maintenance work has been carried out. Inside the ship, the plumbing has been broken down and this part of the ship has been emptied. New waste water tanks are coming in and the water tanks have also received the necessary attention. This week the 4 tanks will be placed back in the ship and the carpentry can start.
After Victoria S was launched in early January, the Noordvaarder was able to climb the slope. Outside and on deck there is a lot of bites, sanding and liters of primer and paint spread. Here too, the necessary work was carried out below the waterline and on deck. The masts and spars were removed from both ships for inspection and maintenance. They can be put back in place.
In all weathers, people worked outside in the past two months. It is nice that the days are getting longer, because there is still a lot of work to be done before we can welcome our first guests on board in mid-March.
Soon we will introduce the skipper of the Victoria S. Curious? It can already be seen in the photos below!
