Information about the Corona virus

Of course, as a shipping company, we are on top of developments regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and we take all measures to prevent health risks.

The worldwide impact of the Coronavirus affects our sector deeply and we are therefore in close contact with local authorities (GGD), the sector organization and municipalities, who keep us informed of current developments on a daily basis.

The state of affairs

At the moment there is no reason to avoid or cancel holidays.

During your stay on board you do not run any extra risks and you can nevertheless enjoy your sailing trip without any worries.

Sailing trips and sailing holidays

The Coronavirus mainly spreads through cough and sneeze droplets. Outside the body, the virus can only survive for a short time and those who do not show any symptoms pose relatively little risk of infection.

Of course we follow the advice of RIVM and we pay extra attention to:

  • cleaning of living areas
  • cleaning so-called “hand contact points”, such as light switches, bedside tables and door handles
  • washing linen
  • physical moments of contact

We only use professional cleaning agents and when washing bed linen ensure a temperature (> 60 degrees), in which viruses do not survive.

What can you do yourself?

It is important to follow the standard measures that apply to a “normal” flu and cold, namely by:

give a greeting other than a hand, hug or kiss
wash your hands regularly with soap and water for at least 25 seconds
coughing and sneezing in a tissue or the inside of your elbow
use paper tissues and throw them away afterwards

During a sailing trip, it is important that you suspect that you immediately contact the local doctor by telephone and inform the skipper
