The Wadden Sea is full of stories
It is not without reason that the Wadden Sea has been recognized as a World Heritage Site. It is a beautiful area full of stories, wildlife and the most beautiful nature!
Every evening the sea air is transformed into a beautiful color palette during sunset. We spot seals, are surrounded by exceptional nature and enjoy a view to remember. The Wadden Sea has countless stories to tell.
Stories of the Wadden Sea
The most famous of the Wadden Sea is of course the Wadlopen and the special Wadden Islands. Large parts of the Wadden Sea fall dry twice a day due to high and low tides. The drained areas make it possible to walk on Wadden from the mainland to a Wadden island. Numerous shrimps, shellfish, worms and snails also emerge during drying out. This attracts a large number of birds to the sandbanks, such as gulls, avocets and terns. Perfect for the bird lovers among us!
Spotting seals
During a sailing trip we also see hundreds of seals sunbathing on the sandbanks. It is the perfect place for the seal to nurse and rest extensively. The curious seals regularly visit our ships, so you just come face to face with a beautiful wild animal.
The Wadden Islands
When we talk about the Dutch Wadden Islands, we are talking about Texel, Vlieland, Terschelling, Ameland and Schiermonnikoog. Every island is different. Each with a special nature, sights and unique events and festivals. Feel free to view our sailing packages to the Wadden Islands and book your weekend Wadden Island in 2020!
