Stevenaak Victoria S

Sail with us on Stevenaak the Victoria S on Waddenzee and IJsselmeer with your (sport)friends, family or collegeagues. The Victoria S is a stevenaak with 24 beds. The two mast-ship has a luxury format and is-with a length of 29.5 m and a width of 5.3 m-a good and fast sailer.

The ship can accommodate 24 guests for multi-day trips and 30 guests for a day trip sailing. The ship is very well suited for weekend with friends, family, reunion, company trip, company promotion trip, team building or just for a weekend taking a breath of fresh sea air on the Waddenzee or IJsselmeer. A sailing adventure with a school class is a very well occasion for team building and individual development!

As from October 2017 we, Michael and Elske are the proud owners of the Victoria S and sail with her and our guests over Waddenzee and Ijsselmeer. We have carried out an historical survey on the Victoria S and it appears that there is quit a lot of information available about the ship, although there are also some contradiction about “the date of birth”. We assume that with a length of 23,56 metres she was launched at the shipyard Jonker in Kinderdijk in the year 1882 under the name Daarom! (Why). A rather strange name but according to the ships registration archive at the same shipyard a few years earlier her sister ship Waarom was built. And this ship is also still sailing as a charter under the name La Bohème. Further the history shows that in 1898 the Victoria S was enlarged to tha actual length of 28,38 metres at the shipyard “De Hoop der Drie Gebroeders” of the brothers Paans in Roodevaart (close to Moerdijk). Later the ship was renamed into Grevelingen and Vios II. In the 90ties of the former era the ship was renovated into a chartership a got the name Victoria S.
